Technology has become an intrinsic component of a school’s safeguarding agenda. From DfE statutory guidance “Keeping Children Safe in Education” to Ofsted Safeguarding schedules, accountabilities are clear. And yet, the boundaries seem hard to define; most of the issues with which schools intervene happen beyond the school’s geography and timetable but still impact on the safety and well-being of pupils. How can schools craft an online safeguarding strategy that has pragmatic and positive outcomes? This keynote will outline key features of effective practice in online safeguarding and offers advice and robust toolsets to begin or develop your existing strategy.
