EduTech Show 2018 back @ Olympia, London

The buzz and anticipation is already growing as The EduTech Show 2018 is again due to bring innovative classroom based technologies to the forefront of today’s education system as it lands in Olympia this coming Autumn.

Shows like this are crucial in ensuring our young people learn through a variety of advancing technologies enabling them to succeed in an ever expanding digital world. Before you read any further make sure you don’t let this education show pass you by and pencil Friday 12th October 2018 in your digital diary now.

The show is an ideal opportunity for Primary, Secondary and Independent school teachers to get up to speed with computing in education in its latest form. The format comprises of keynote speakers, snappy seminar sessions and hands-on masterclasses.

2018 Builds on the variety of free seminar sessions available during the 2017 show. The renewed Advisory Board has developed a well structured array of bespoke speaker led sessions which will allow teachers to take real ‘of the moment’ computing tips back into their schools. Teachers will not be able to resist putting ideas into practice immediately. Each 30 minute session focuses on a specific aspect of computing in the current curriculum.

Again, this year, the show welcomes keynote speakers who are eager to engage with the an audience of visionary teachers who want to deliver the freshest ideas to their children in the classroom. Deputy Dave Mitchell, a pioneer in getting kids blogging on a global scale will take teachers on a journey which will certainly go lightyears beyond the humdrum classroom display boards!

Want to take a closer look at online safety? EduTech brings you a further keynote with Ken Corish, an international Online Safety Director. Ken’s invaluable experience, as a BECTA award winning Educational Adviser, will answer those bigger questions about how to shape our children to be savvy on the net.

Enriching this tech-fest of offerings there are 2 further keynotes. The first from David Weston (Teacher Development Trust) and secondly David Horton, Head of Digital Strategy at Orwell Park School.

This alone recognises teachers’ creativity and also supports how visitors are still grappling with the changes introduced through the renewed curriculum in 2014. EduTech 2018 will enable teachers to connect with other like minded folk to share best practice as well as forge links with new colleagues from near and far.

In addition to this EduTech 2018 will be offering a sprinkling of fun packed masterclasses throughout the day. What’s a masterclass you ask? This year’s masterclass’ will be a platform for lead practitioners to model dynamic practical technologies used by schools; Each masterclass lasts 20 minutes. The content covers a few of the following: Digital Leaders (an online safety training programme which allows children to be the experts across the school) and Google Classroom (a means of engaging young learners via a virtual classroom).

Delving a little further into the motherboard of the exhibition allows the show content to encompass sessions on e-safety, classroom learning models, technology in the classroom and Big Data. These seminar sessions will cater for teachers with an interest in how technology supports children with Special Educational Needs, teachers focusing on 6th form education and Early Years practitioners. Computing experts will find the seminars enhance their current practice, while consolidating their wealth of understanding. Computing novices will go away feeling empowered to implement new concepts after hearing from speakers who work day in and day out in the classroom.

For EduTech Show 2018, speaker sessions are divided into keynote, seminars and master classes. Sessions are designed to give attendees some key ‘take-aways’
